BLAKLEY LAW PLLC

Four Decades of Experience

Tall Buildings

At BLAKLEY LAW, we are steadfastly committed to strong written and oral advocacy on behalf of our clients. Founding member, Kenneth (“Ken”) H. Blakley, has successfully litigated more than one hundred complex commercial cases as lead counsel in federal and state courts through jury verdict, judgment or settlement for over 40 years. We assess each case in careful detail and tailor our strategy specifically for that case. Our goal is to employ a comprehensive strategy through tested legal tactics to place each client in the best position for a favorable trial verdict or settlement.

Joining Ken Blakley is senior trial and appellate lawyer, Robert D. Edinger, and litigation paralegal, Kendra E. Hanke. When advantageous to the client, BLAKLEY LAW utilizes additional lawyers and support personnel through strictly vetted lawyer-contract relationships. These relationships allow BLAKLEY LAW to hand-pick and retain knowledgeable lawyers specific to the needs of the case and avoid on-the-job training for staff lawyers. BLAKLEY LAW also acts as co-counsel with other firms to promote strategic joint representation of clients.

BLAKLEY LAW focuses exclusively on litigation involving oil and gas, energy, environmental, business, estates and trusts, and fiduciary matters. We are not everything to everyone – instead our expertise is targeted on those matters and industries we know to the core. Our decades of experience include representing both plaintiffs and defendants, multiparty litigation, class actions, and appeals through the highest state and federal courts.

In addition to our hourly fee practice, BLAKLEY LAW offers contingency fee arrangements in those cases where the client is seeking recovery. Under such arrangement, there is no fee unless recovery and the risk of recovery is shared between the client and the firm. We are available to discuss the structure of a contingency fee relationship if compatible with your financial needs or desires.

When our strategy calls for it, we utilize a variety of digital and interactive demonstrative exhibits to aid in courtroom presentations. BLAKLEY LAW has invested significantly in cybersecurity for our clients and maintains a 24/7 security presence in all electronic data storage and transmissions.

BLAKLEY LAW Secures Supreme Court Reversal of Judgment on Indemnity Claim Arising from Pipeline Leak

In a case involving injury to real property from a defective pipeline, pipe manufacturer and distributor obtained summary judgment on pipeline operator’s claim for common law indemnity. The trial court found there was no legal relationship between the manufacturer/ distributor and the operator to support the indemnity claim and the “economic loss rule” would otherwise bar such recovery. On appeal, the Oklahoma Supreme Court reversed the trial court by finding the operator’s vicarious liability for injury to property based on its non-delegable duty under the subject pipeline easement supported the right to indemnity and, separately, the “economic loss rule” does not apply to operator’s claim. BLAKLEY LAW represented the operator on appeal and will continue in the prosecution of the claim on remand. Click here for the Oklahoma Supreme Court’s Opinion.
